As the first "Good Luck Beijing" sport event to take place at the newly-built Olympic venue, the opening ceremony of the 2007 World Rowing Junior Championships will be held at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park on the afternoon of August 7. On the morning of August 8, the competition will begin officially.

According to the organizers, over 500 journalists from over 60 Chinese and foreign media organizations have been accredited for the event, including over 30 Chinese mainstream media organizations, whose reporters account for 2/3 of all, and 30 foreign media organizations such as BBC, Reuters, AP and AFP and TV stations from the participating countries and regions.

Press accreditation started from August 6 and will end on the noon of August 8. By the press time, nearly 300 reporters from over 40 media organizations had been accredited and got their press cards.
