Beijing, 11 August – Comments from Chinese Taipei's TSAI Wen-hui after finishing Junior Men's Single Sculls, Final F.

TSAI Wen-hui (TPE)

On finishing 31st place:
"Today I wanted to challenge myself. I was happy to make so much progress since my performance on day one. Personal breakthroughs really mean a lot to me.”

On adjusting to the course:
"Every day I have trained hard to adapt to the conditions here. Step by step I found the ratio and style that suited me. Today I just felt so right on the water.”

On the Shunyi venue:
"We don't have any facility like this in Taipei. There's no such long and strait course like you have here in Beijing. We can only row in circles and try and get used to that.”

On the junior championships:
"This is my first experience, and I won't be able to take part in next year's because I'll be over 18 by then.”
