The Airport Expressway has greatly reduced the traveling time to downtown Beijing, and the light-rail, which is under construction, will connect Shunyi with the centre of the city. By 2008, it will only take 30 minutes from the Olympic Village to Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park.
