The Organizing Committee of the 2007 World Rowing Junior Championships has the great pleasure to welcome all the athletes, coaches, officials and spectators from all over the world to the World Junior Championships in Shunyi, Beijing. We are very grateful to FISA and the national association for awarding this event to Beijing.

    The 2007 World Rowing Junior Championships will take place at the Shunyi Olympic Rowing-Canoeing Park which is also the venue for Olympic Rowing and Canoeing competition in 2008. The regatta course will be ready in April of 2007. We have already started all the preparation work for the Championships.

    The 2007 World Rowing Junior Championships will provide the people in Beijing with a good opportunity to see the exciting performances of young rowers from all over the world. It will also give the local people a better knowledge of the sport before they enjoy the Olympic rowing competition in 2008. Meanwhile, the Championships will certainly be a very good warm-up for organizers of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games to learn experience in organizing a high level international rowing regatta.
